im sry rockville, what do you mean by tax reasons? like a gas guzzler tax?
Some countries tax cars based on engine displacement. Japan and and the UK come to mind. Note that more often than not a "2.0" motor is actually 19XX cc. and a 1.6L is actually 15XX cc. Thus is it preferable to have a motor with less than 2000cc of displacement as this puts you in a lower tax bracket. In Japan I think the brackets include 1600cc and 2000cc. This might explain why we used to see lots of Japanese cars with either a 1.6L or 2.0L motor. As the Japanese started really targeting the US market they started adding displacement. The high cost of fuel as well as displacement limits are part of the reason why Japan and Europe ended up making small displacement motors while in the US we simply bumped displacement.

In the US you will see something similar with boats. You see 9.9hp boat motors but never a 10hp. That was because boats with 10hp or more had different regulations than those under 10. When I was growing up kids under 15 could only operate boats with less than 10hp without supervision.

Buick Reatta.
As cheesy as that looks, I like the Reatta. It's a neat-looking car.

Buick was the first to do a touch screen system. Many people said it was a bad idea. Funny, people now seem to think it's a good idea....

An old 300ZX maybe?
This is from a 1984 or 1985 300ZX. Nissan changed it slightly for 1986-89. I know this since it is in my Z.
