beauty is in the eye of the beholder my man, i think that might be one of the ugliest s2000's i have ever seen, but to some people they think it looks great

I've only started liking BMW's for their e92 M3's (disliked all pre 08's). But I'd say e92 M3 > s2000 stock for stock.

hmmm...

Both are good looking cars and both have huge followings with great aftermarket support.

That said - remove the badges and associated image, remove the performance figures, different tuning styles and owner demographics.. remove anything to do with anything other than pure aesthetics - IMO, the purpose built, well proportioned two seat sports car looks better.

In terms of aesthetics; I've always thought the M roadster looks better than the s2000. S2000 suffers from modern car syndrome of having a high belt-line. It may look cool when you're not in it...but I assure you; if you're short of stature, you look like a moron driving an s2000 with only a small portion of your head visible from the side window.

Z3 is pretty much the last car that feels like those old school british roadsters that give you a true open air driving experience.

Two very different cars to try and compare.
Soft top up the S2000 loses.
Mugen hardtop on, hard choice to make.
If you're 5'0" to 5'5" with lowered seat rails and the seat back you can look like a an idiot, but I don't suffer from that so it's a non issue.
The M3 is a handsome ride, the S is more flashy and raucous looking IMHO.
Also the S changes a lot based on color and mods... The M3 not so much.

depends on the year of the m3...older guys or more sophisticated guys will like the e30 m3s of course..younger but not too young guys will love the e46 m3...super young guys will like the s2000 boy racer status.

The s2k does look uglier with top up...with hardtop and with top down it looks 100 times better..but still only close to putting it on level with e46 m3 imo.

All those pics comparing a mod m3 vs mod s2k are "different strokes.." type of things..plus they are picking some crappy low quality pics for the e46 to compare...time for some REAL pics:

Ok, ill play,

So, if you have to go head to head, Modded vs Modded goes to s2k. stock vs stock goes to m3. theres just not alot you can do with a m3 visually wise.

The problem here is that the typical S2000 modding flowchart is to tack on a bunch of crap to it. You just can't do that with the M3. The euro cars need more restraint. These over the top M3s are ugly. I guess you could say the strength of the M3 is that it is a minimalist modder's dream. Requires very little to look good; whereas the S2000 is too plebian stock and requires you changing everything/tacking goofy crap onto it.
