selling s2k for a new NSX. I need some opinions
don't flame if you don't have anything nice to say then shove it! Anyways, here is the situation. I just got a big bonus and been looking at the new model NSX. I'm not too familiar with the car, knowledge wise. Test drove the car and really like it what are the difference between the 01 and the latest model? Give me some good reasons or bad ones of selling my s2k for this new toy. Thanks a bunch in advance

its a very nice car. i was able to drive one for a few days when i visited family in minnesota, and was a bit wishy washy as to how i felt about it. it looks amazing, sounds amazing, has a well-made, but kinda boring interior, superb gearbox, but only mediocre acceleration, and sub-pad steering feel IMO. it was certainly a fun car to drive regardless, but steering feel is one of the things that makes or breaks a car for me, and it just seems like it takes forever to make the car turn. i looked it up and it has an 18.6:1 steering ratio, so quite large. anyway, the acceleration was quick, but it definately could use more kick. great $50k-$60k car, but for 90k? pass.

nsx - a pure exotic and its design was well beyond its time. I don't care if its not a "convertible" heck its an NSX. I see it as a more refined vehicle, quieter, smoother , but at the same time less fun to drive and less fun to parallel park it if you ever have to. Aside from that, I'd opt for one in a heartbeat no questions asked.
I for one, considered a 91, 92 before I bought my 2nd s2000. But those nsx's were simply too beaten up. If I was in your financially gain, I'd go for it..

might want to think about leasing.
acura is still giving amazing lease deals on NSX's that are sitting on dealer lots.
friend just did a yellow on yellow 04 nsx. less than $800 a month, 2 yr lease. .15 cents per mile over yearly limit. I forgot what his yearly limit was but .15 cents / mile is VERY cheap.
at that rate its like leasing a 40-50k car.

best place to start your research.

btw, the main difference between 97-01 and 02+ NSX's are the headlights and the rear spoiler. The changes reduced the Cd which in turn led to a higher top speed. 97-01 NSX have a top speed of 168 MPH. 02+ NSX's have a top speed of 175 MPH.

I went from a 01 S2k to a high mileage 91 NSX, and I'll tell ya that it has been one of my best decisions yet.
My S2k was my daily as is the NSX, so the NSX is def. better suited as a daily driver. I liked the S2K, but I liked the X even better. I say go for it.
