My point is that until someone sets an independent time, then it's all just speculation. What may be believable and what is possible might not be one and the same. Also it's not certain that the 'rumored' times are set on the same configurationas the other 'official' times that are being thrown around in this thread.
We know that the 8:15 C6 time by 'Sports Auto' is directly comparable as they are set by the same driver and on the same track configuration and we know that thew car was 100% stock. The driver gets roughly the same seat time in every car that Sports Auto tests so that makes the comparision even more so valid.
I'm sure that 'Sports Auto' will test the Z06 and then we'll have a time that is directly comparable with the 'other' times ... be it whatever it may be.

It seems to me Porsche uses a very fast factory driver to get the most out of their cars, can't GM do the same? So if they both use the best drivers of their cars they can find, and wait for a good day to make their runs (no rain, medium temps, etc) and they both go balls out, how is that not indicative of the cars potential? I am not making grandiose claims about the vette can beat X, but am saying it can run 7:43 with the right driver on the right day on OEM equipment. Isn't that what the Ring is for?

More fuel for the bench racers
[QUOTE]"Allegedly", Walt did some laps the other day. the 3.6 Carrera lapped in 8:15 whilst he recorded an 8:11 in the Gayman S on PS2s. Butboy's chassis is twice as stiff as the Coxster's, so they can stiffen up the springs without frothing the Latte.

I think this is officially the one billionth time you have made this point of distinction here on s2ki.com. Not that I'm counting or anything.

Wow, that car caught some pretty serious air. I know a lot of cars, even race cars, will catch air on the certain parts of the ring, but damn.....I would have pooped.
