There are so many posts here saying "all you have to do is replace this or that component and the STI comes alive..." Everyone here who is supporting the STI has modded it. How much do those mods cost? Spending $3,000 or more to make the STI "fun" sounds like a rather unimpressive endorsement to me.
It sounds to me like the the S2000 in stock form is more fun than the STI in stock form. Is that true?

while you're entitled to your opinion....
I love my STi - just flashed Cobb Stage 1 and I'm never looking back....

IMO, With minor suspension mods (swaybars) to liven up the handling a little more, and basic stage 2 mods (turbo-back exhaust and ECU), the improvements are HUGE.. around 60 flywheel HP/ 80ft-lbs torque + much more lively handling.

i got the Evo over the STi mainly due to handling...it just feels more nimble. but unlike what everybody says, the Evo doesn't handle THAT MUCH better than the STi stock vs. stock...i just prefer the Evo's very precise steering feel more (one of the best steering in all the cars i've driven/owned IMO)
in terms of driving experience, when i first got my IX, i thought my brother's ap1 was much more fun to drive. but after 4 months and 7000 miles, i find the Evo to be insanely fun to drive as well...just in a different way.
at the end of the day, it's all personal preference. i'm just glad i have the luxury of having access to both of these cars...completely opposite of each other yet so ****ing fun to drive
to the OP: give the STi more time and see what happens. if u still miss the s2k too much, sell the STi and get an used s2k and a Fit (great car, my father owns one)

But its not. I pulled much faster AutoX times in my Sti over the S2000 sure the S2000 was fun. The S2000 cut the slalums like butter, the Sti gave you an arm workout.
