Default Suv options

Hello Everyone,

So I am in the market for an SUV and I am looking for some opinions for some choices. So let me give some history
In my garage
2001 S2000
2004 TSX 6MT
I am not selling these cars

I want and SUV and maybe even a wagon that is a 6 speed (if possible) sporty, fun to drive, low on maintenance and overall good looking. I am willing to spend 18k Tops. Here is where i am at
RDX
FX35
WRX Wagon
Maybe the Lexus SUV

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

RDX is fun and sporty, though a little bit quirky. It's not for everyone - you kind of have to drive it hard to really appreciate what it can do.

I'd say a Subaru wagon would be a much better option, overall. Not as luxurious (by a long shot) but available with a manual transmission, fairly powerful (in the right spec) and pretty spacious as well.

V8 4runner. Reliable as hell. True suv. Did I say reliable. Plenty of aftermarket support.

I have a 2008 4 runner. Love it.

How about a Jaguar X Type 3.0 Estate? AWD and comes in a manual. The estate looks better than the sedan.

Thanks for the feedback!
I was think 5 seater. I don't want the Tsx wagon. It's not a 6 speed so I would just be unhappy with it. I have heard good things about the 4runner

Sadly the Passat wagon with the 2.0T is no longer in the US. Nice car. The Jetta is available in wagon+ stick at least with the diesel. Probably with the gasser too.

If you want an SUV your two best options IMO are either the 4Runner or Pathfinder. True body on frame trucks, good reliability, good size.

If you want a wagon, I agree with others, sell the Acura and get a wagon - no need for a sedan and a wagon. Did the US get the Spec b Legacy wagon?

18k puts some limits on what you can get.

Lexus SUV's are reliable but not necessarily "cheap" to maintain. They aren't exactly "fun" either but they are certainly enjoyable to drive and do what they are designed to do very well. Frankly, I think the market undervalues them and the used car market in general is over priced right now. My buddy had a white one as an extra vehicle for about a year and oddly enough it got more attention from women than his SL.

Check out the GX470, that's what my friend had. I've seen several clean ones for ~20k.
