AFAIK, the FA20 in your WRX has a timing chain and not a belt. Congrats on the new ride! Enjoy!

Thank you. Oh that would be a big relief. For some reason I seen a link to the Sti needing camshaft belts replaced at 120k kms and the other WRXs needing camshaft betls replaced at 150k kms ? I don't have my owner's manual yet as the car is being prepped by the dealer, but it would be nice if they moved to chains vs. belts. Thanks.

Follow that link to download a PDF of the owner's manual. It's for USA models, but should be almost the same as for Canadian models. Don't know about you, but I read my cars' owner's manuals front to back. :D

Thanks very much , I appreciate that greatly. Yeah me too I love sitting down with a nice glass of wine and reading an owner's manual front to back and back to front, it's my favourite kind of reading, non-fiction I guess. lol.

Congrats on getting the WRX.....last year my wife traded in her '13 Si coupe for an 18 Impreza hatch limited. She really likes it to haul all her lady friends around.

Thanks , Subaru has a pretty decent line up of cars, good to hear your wife is making good use of the Imprezza .

should be chain with direct injection- maybe consider a catch can.

yes direct injection, I don't know if Subaru has fuel dilution issues with these motors, like I have with my Civic 1.5 l turbo, a catch can is a good idea. I see Subaru is starting to introduce dual injection engines on their other models, I expect the next WRX will likely have that.

I’ve got an 18 base wrx and have been very happy with it. I put a good set of snow and ice tires on it and it gets me where I need to go. I had a 17 base wrx before this one and a woman rear ended me at 45 plus and spun the car around but I was very impressed at how the car took the hit. The passenger side cpillar had a small crinkle but everything forward of that was fine everything behind the cpillar took all the damage it is a very safe car.

Nice. I got a 2018 Impreza hatch and am happy with it. Would have liked a WRX or STI but this is my beater and didnt feel right putting lots of miles on a nicer model.
