i've had this mod done to my car almost since day one. i've had the car for about 5 years and its been trouble free. but now i am questioning if this is actually beneficial or not. what is the purpose of coolant running though the thottle body? is it to cool it or keep it from getting stuck is severe cold conditions? reason i ask is because i bypassed the cooland line on my gf's accord v6 and a check engine light came on this week. its been bypassed for about 1 year on her car and the honda tech claims that the bypass caused the tb to warp, which caused poor idle and cel.

should i put the coolant line back on the s2k???

The coolant is there to warm up the throttle body, and keep the throttle plate from "icing" on cold starts in high humidity weather.

The performance gain from removing coolant from the throttle body is non existent, the intake manifold is heated because it's attached to the cylinder head, not because of the small amount of coolant that goes through the throttle body.

Which hoses did you bypass? On a V6 accord, the IAC is mounted to the bottom of the throttle body. Removing these coolant hoses will cause the IAC to freeze, and get a erratic/rough idle, CEL.

this does nothing for the S2k. this has been discussed ad nauseum, and I have a TON of info I've posted from people who have extensively tested, and re-tested this "bunk" myth of a mod.

I'm sorry but that is nonsense. For an N/A car the heat soak/bog will be reduced.
For an FI car the reduced intake chage temperature allows more advanced timing and therefore more power.
