Thinking about a new sedan for us.
Yes, we have an S 2000 we like in the non-snow months here in Durango, CO. But our sedan is an 04 Mercedes C 320 with RWD and it's not so good in snow packed roads. Thinking about a new sedan with AWD -- specifically a Mercedes C 43 AMG AWD. Any comments?

Snow tires over AWD for snow, but both together is ideal. Keep in mind AMG engine parts are top dollar. Plenty of powerful AWD sedans on the market. What is your rationale for just one particular model and a rare one at that?

^The C43 AMG isn't an "AMG model" in the traditional sense. Rather it's the model that previously was labeled "AMG Sport". It does not have a bespoke hand built engine. It's the latest move for Mercedes whoring out and cheapening the AMG brand.
Anyways, all you "need" are snow tires. But if I lived in Durango I'd probably spring for AWD + snow tires.

I'm not sure how the snow is in Durango, but here in Boulder our RWD 328i with snow tires is all we need. Ride height is the only issue when there's really deep snow - on snow packed roads it's great.

Considering you are looking at new cars, give the Jaguar XE 3.0 R-Sport or Infiniti Q a shot. On the Jag, it has an ice mode that works great along with snowy surface launch function.
