its comparable in the straights. not so much on the track....further proof that lateral g forces don't translate into actual performance figures

FYI, I just saw in my newspaper today that they are offering $6500 off MSRP on their entire stock of 2010's. You may want to go for $7000-$7500 if you go for a 2010.

Even if you were just boosting it, a few Mustang magazines have discovered the rods are too weak for it.
This is a bit odd, as the new MT had a side article on how the crankshaft & rods are forged parts, & it will have high performance pistons, 4 bolt main bearings & iron cylinder sleeves. Sounds as if the bottom end is made for FI. But it does have an 11:1 compression ratio, so that is rather high for FI.

Anyone considering a 5.0 Mustang NEEDS to read this tech article on the motor. It is straight from the guys who designed this engine, and is an awesome read.

It is pretty much everything you need to know on the new motor, it's strengths, weaknesses, even some of the future roadmap plans for it.

http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techartic...gine/index.html

This is a motor every bit as epic as something like an F20C, the VR38TT or the E92's V8.

No way would I consider a 2010 with the ability to buy this beast.
