The three most interesting EVs of 2019...

Jaguar I Pace, Volvo Polestar 2, Honda Urban EV.

The Honda's price isn't announced yet, and only the Jag is on sale now, but I think these three hit the major price points, and are the real vanguard of EVs becoming mainstream.

Jaguar I-Pace

Volvo Polestar 2

Honda Urban EV

Thoughts?

the Jag is pretty. but waaaay too many dollars for me.
I'm not impressed with the Volvo. Volvo makes me sad given they used to produce and race the 850T5R wagon.
The honda looks really interesting from the exterior but that wall-o-screen is effin' overkill. Just give me gauges- I don't need to connect my car to the internet- I just need to drive it, then autocross the wheels off it.

I'm most excited about the Honda. A futuristic throwback approach.

I thought the Honda wasn't destined for the US market.

The Honda isn't planned for North America.

The Volvo looks weird to me, like it can't decide what it is.

The Jag looks the best but it's not a large vehicle (at all). Cool but pricey!

Having driven the I-pace and the Tesla X to compare on an autocross track and on the freeway, the I-pace is by far the best. Very planted, very little tire and wind noise, amazing acceleration. The price is steep, I wouldn't pay for it. But then again, I haven't completely bought into EV's just yet so I wouldn't buy any of them. It did impress me though.

I am in the market for none. The Honda looks cool, and outside the fact they don't currently plan to bring it here, if I was in the market for a cheap commuter EV with a range of about 100 miles, I'd buy a lease return 500e for about $7k. The Honda is neat, but I don't want to drop $30k or so for a 115 mile car.

I am intrigued by the rumors circulated several months ago that a Toyota MR2 might return in the form of an EV in the future, but since 1 in every 150 auto rumors turn out to be true, I won't hold my breath.

I'm definitely interested in the VW I.D. Hatchback, a pure EV taking the place of the E-Golf. Supposedly destined for the US.

I don't think any pricing information has been released for the Honda. Though I would be interested for about $20k. The US might get it eventually, and we most certainly will get another EV based on the same platform.

If it drives as sportily as a GTI, and is priced right, I'd take a look at one of those.
