Volvo would be my first pick. I really like their design language and they tend to use higher quality materials for the dollar out of the three. When and if Jaguar comes out with the electric XJ with like 600+ hp; now you got my attention.

The Volvo reminds me of a new age AMC Eagle, kind of retro futuristic cool, and nice that it's not a jelly bean.

The Jaguar out Tesla's the Model X.

The Honda lost the great roof profile, but if it really is a cheap $20k EV, would be interesting.

If you're not sure about EVs I'd recommend doing what we've done. In June last year we picked up a 5 year old Leaf as a test bed to see if we could handle the range anxiety etc. My wife uses it all day every day running around town, doing the school and shopping runs, taking her mother to the doctor and so on. She'll generally do 40-60 miles a day, and recharging at home really isn't any more of an issue than charging a cellphone.

So far the only thing that's let us down is Nissan's service department itself. If the Leaf lasts 2 years and is only worth scrap value by then, it'll still have cost nothing overall when fuel savings are taken into account (fuel is stupidly expensive here). Range will become an issue for us once we find some land out of town but for now since we're in town there's really no reason for us not to have one. We still have an ICEV for long distance trips, and the S2000 is for thrills.

We're not far away from hunting for a larger, more permanent EV to replace the Leaf, it's just annoying so many manufacturers are aiming for 2020 release dates. The Porsche Taycan is the most appealing to me but RHD versions will probably be even further away from production.

I went to a test drive put on by Jag. I have an old Jag so I get what they are and why folks like them. This Jag, the Ipac is fantastic. It's over priced, period. A used one would be a good deal if they depreciate like Jags do. I liked everything about the ipace, acceleration matches my M3, handling is superb on an autocross circuit. They even pump in some background engine noise...cause...it's a Jag.

Based on the one-page article in, of all places, Classic and Sports Car ("Future Classics"), I like the Honda except (a) over 3000LB, (b) too many doors, (c) short range. That said, I'm keeping the Boxster for up to 9 more years, so for Honda that's two more generations, eh? A chance for it to get better -- or worse. By then my wife will also be retired and we can have one short-trip electric car and one longer-range, probably sporty, gas-powered car (our last?) The Honda's dash is too gimmicky and I would not be surprised that 10-15 year old Honda E's will have problems there.
