Did the quoted article in the original post really call the CR-Z a sports car? What a joke. That's an insult to anything that truly is a sports car.
This FT-86...makes me excited. Right now my plans are to replace the S2000 in a few years with a 370Z or used Cayman S but this might pique my interest a bit.

+1 for stripped version for sale. It will save us money on the crap real drivers don't want anyway.
