Uber Sedan: E60 M5 or E63 AMG?
What a pair of great sport sedans. I'm feeling the new E63 though. I bet it sounds glorious and strapped to a perfect 7-speed automatic, it would be the perfect 500+hp daily driver.

As a daily driver, it's a no-brainer to me - E63 AMG all the way. Better looking, just as fast (in a straight line, if not faster), nicer inside, and a lot less frenetic. If I can afford either car, I can also afford something to drive in a serious way, so I wouldn't "waste" it on a 4000+ lb four door.
If I could only have one vehicle (period) and had to choose between these two, I'd have to go with the M5. It just offers that edge in sportiness to keep me somewhat satisfied until I bought a real sports car. It's more car than I could tame right now, either way.

Without question, the E63 WAGON. Great sleeper. Make mine some kinda blue with a tan interior and wood trim. I'd probably take that over any 4-door on the market (I'd be too embarrassed to drive a Bentley, Rolls, Maybach, etc.). EVERY Bangle BMW leaves me totally cold. I don't care how they drive (and I've driven a 325i, 330i, Z4 3.0, and 650Ci), I have just absolutely no interest in any Bangle BMW. Pity what they've done to BMW.

I'd also go with the M5 because according to the local AutoTrader, M-B depreciation rates are mud. The M5 is likely to hold a value if the M-B cars here are indicative of a wider trend.
