I don't know if it's the same guy, but John David Smith was the chief engineer for Monster Motorsports, the original V8 Miata shop, and was well known in the Miata community. He was convicted of killing his first wife and is believed to have also killed his second. Remains of a third unidentified female victim were also found next to the remains of his first wife.

Last I heard his 3rd (and surviving) wife was still driving around in his Monster Miata, one of the earliest V8 Miatas built.

Not the same guy. The more recent Miata murderer killed a woman he knew (ex-classmate, IIRC) after abducting her from a parking lot in a NW Houston suburb.

I saw the thread, it was pretty crazy. Be careful the next time you call a Miata owner gay - you never know how they might react!

That may be the case. My memory sucks.

However, when I was 20 I raw dogged a couple of 17-year-olds so I can't say much. It just happened to be legal where I was.
