Thumbs up Volvo S60R or BMW 330i or other?

I have loved every minute owning an S2000, unfortunatly the time has come to move on. I would really like a BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe, but my current finances only allow me to lease a car up $600 a month, with minimum down (first payment and drive-off fees). I want something fun to drive but a little more practical than the S. I'm going through fleetrates.com and they are working on a really good deal on a Sonic Blue on atacama leather 6 speed manual S60R. Has anyone had any experience with this car? From what i have found (swedespeed and bimmerforums) they seem to be prety solid and handle quite well. 300 hp 295 ft/lbs from 1950 RPM, 4C AWD. The car they found is fully loaded (Stickers at $48K)and with the dealer incentives can be had for around 36.5. My lease payments would be about 600 a month. This fits the bill. Terms are 15000 Miles per Year for 39 months.

Another option could be a 2006 BMW 330i. I'm not sure but BMW should be offering some dealer cash on these to discount them, as the 2007 will be arriving soon. These also have a good residual and money factor (36 mo/15k mi

Honestly i've never ridden in either car, but I would prefer the BMW especially with the free maintenance, and the lower car payment could net you a good amount of extra cash.

Ya, good point. Lease it and pay even less a month.

The S60R is supposed to be good, but completely soulless. According to C&D, it's pretty fast in a very disconnected way. Almost like a Camry with AWD and a ton of HP. Nicer interior though. I like their looks and they seem to sort of hold their value.

But I'd probably go BMW too. It will hold its value (relatively speaking) because of the nameplate, and you cannot go wrong with a 3 with a 6-speed.

Neither of those cars attract me. I want something sporty. Also no front wheel drive. I'm aware that the volvo's AWD is FWD based but from what i hear when you need a RWD car it behaves as such due to the 4C technology.

any other cars you guys might suggest. I'd like to stay away from domestic's, and it must have a manual transmission, so the IS 350 is also out

Keep them coming guys.

Thanks,

Vince

The IS350 doesn't fit the OP's needs, but it is what I wish my TSX was. Beautifully appointed, plenty of power, and compact. It also has some of the features I wish the TSX had, like ventilated seats.

It might be my next ride if Acura drops the ball with the TSX replacement.

Infiniti G35 Sedan. RWD. The gearbox is great. 298 HP in sport form. The 07s come out in November, so you should be able to get a pretty good deal on an 06 now. Last year, I had one on order for $500 over invoice (pretty much loaded) and had a lease price at $500.

Infiniti has some great lease rates. I'd check them out.
