Don't know, I don't really care what it weighs as it hauls ass

I believe Audi puts the wavy rotors on all their RS models.

I'd look for weight saving in a 4500-pound car else where.
I don't think it's for weight saving.
I don't think the engineers are looking at total weight reduction. But, unsprung weight reduction. Makes a difference in handling.

With light unsprung weight, entry and exit corner is much much faster. Equals to a better lap time.

Unsprung Weight
I know what unsprung weight is. X saved at wheel = 2X else where.
Someone suggested it was for inexpensive weight saving. Audi probably has something else in mind.

Weight savings seems dubious.

I'm thinking 80% for looks/marketing, 20% for actual performance benefits. At any rate, it would be an inexpensive way for Audi to make people think it's special.

BMW puts a carbon roof on its 4,400lb M6 GC, which competes directly with the RS7, so I don't see how this is all that outlandish (in terms of what carmakers will do to make people think the car is special, not in terms of how far they'll go to save a tenth of a percent or so of weight).

I was just at laguna and the three fastest cars of the day where gt3s. One Miata in the top ten and it was a completely dedicated track car. These gt3s then drove home as the Miata was trailered home. Not sure where you get the idea a Miata dusts a gt3 lol.

thats laguna seca that's y. Lots of Miatas I know run thunderhill and buttonwillow only cuz of sound. Gt3 for me at least r not that fast especially for a 200k car vs a 5k car. They average lap times around 205 at TH and a good driver can drive a Miata to a 202. When it comes to laguna seca I don't count it as cometion as the exotic cars have an advantage to the sound barrier. When u cork a Miata or s2000 the motors do not like

Not bashing on Porsche either. I like Porsche but I can't afford one haha

also it depends on driver. Usually the gt3 ppl are elderly and the Miata ppl are younger. Not saying younger r better but youngsters have more energy.

The lighter your car the better it stops, accelerates, and turns. The more power you have the better it accelerates.
