Weird problem with my Cadillac -- Any suggestions?

You need to shield the USB cable with EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) wrap to keep it from interfering with your keyless entry system. Read more about EMI here: https://www.mouser.com/pdfdocs/alpha...lded-Cable.pdf
You can buy foil and also cable wrap that should provide adequate shielding, for example: http://a.co/eCPTk0v

You are 100% correct. That's literally the problem. The antenna for my car is right by the rear window. If I just let the wire dangle over the center console, over the back seat, and then into the rear window, it doesn't interfere with the keyless entry. But when I route the wire behind all the body panels, it does.

Problem solved. On a whim, I ordered a replacement cable and it solved the problem immediately. It appears that I caught the original cable on an interior trim clip and it cut a slice out of the cable's internal foil shield. That was all it took to "leak" RFI.
I'm glad to have this licked.

Quickag, after using this camera for a short while, I feel pretty comfortable recommending it.
There are some parts that are kind of annoying. For instance, I have it set to do parking monitoring and motion sensing, so every time a car drives by, it records. This means that when I want to browse through the files (by using the controls on the device), I have to scroll through a zillion files. So that's kind of annoying. Another small annoyance is that a couple of the buttons pull double duty, that is to say, they perform one function when in standby mode and another function while recording. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that big of a deal.
Aside from that, it's pretty solid. It has an emergency button that you can press to tag videos that you want to save from being written over. I think given your proclivities (trips to Mexico) the fact that it only records video and not GPS, speed, etc. might make it a good fit.

My ATS actually weighs about 3,400 lbs, which is pretty cool, considering what most sports cars weigh these days.
