Damn Thanks for all the replies... I do really like the S2000 but I have already had two of them and modded both and just wanna try something new. I currently have a truck and I was getting around 8mpg lifted and everything, plus I just missed the sports car.
I have test drove both the Z06, 350z, and Evo IX. And immedietly canceled out the 350z.. i rather get an S2000 again instead of the 350z. It seemed heavy and didn't handle as well and wasn't all that impressing.
The Z06 handled really well and had that peer straight line power, which I really liked and haven't experienced before.
The Evo IX was fast too but not in the same way as the Z06. And steering response was amazing. Not to mention with little amounts of money you can get really good power out of the Evo.
Still up in the air right now but I'm kind of leaning towards the Z06.

Oh yeah, I've considered the Lotus Elise but I've been looking lately and can't find one for less than $35K.. maybe if I waited a little bit longer I could probably find one with a little more miles for cheaper!

I own an Evo and have driven the C5 Z06. The Z06 is faster and better track car, the evo is much more usable especially where you might have bad weather or need back seats. They are very different. Drive both and see what you like.
I liked the grunt and handling of the Z06, but the evo has much better steering feel. Evo's make decent track cars, but the Z06 is a better choice for something like that, IMO. But, I really do like my evo and feel it's a great all-around car for ~$30k.

I believe the Vette has a big-ish trunk (Maybe someone else can say for sure) but I thought the trunk of a C5 Z06 is 2x or 3x as big as the S2000 trunk.
Is this going to be your daily driver? If so, where do you live? When I was living in Texas/North Carolina and had the Z06, I hated life when I got stuck in a storm (when it rains in the south... its like a freaking hurricane...) there have been a couple of times that I hit puddles (some of the roads aren't that perfect) and when you do, it either tries to rip your car sideways or you hydroplane... and this has happened going 45-50 mph.
Despite what others may say, the Z06 is actually a lot more comfortable of a DD than the s2k (maybe thats cause I'm 6'2"...) Its got hella torque, sounds SICK and gets a decent amount of attention (even though my GTO got more attention than the Z06 did) Plus it has that friendly little 'vette driver thing going on that s2000s and jeeps have where you always waive to eachother... maybe its just me, but I thought it was pretty cool when older men and guys in their 40s and 50s would waive to a 21 year old and give me the thumbs up, while they were rolling their eyes at and flipping off all of the evo/sti/honda/toyota drivers in that age bracket...

i'd get an Evo or STI both cars can still be had new for around 30k because of massive discounting since their newer variants are arriving soon.
my personal pick would be a 07 sti, which u can get for about 31-32k out the door. Or a used 06 one which is 22-25k.

That's what I would do.
Besides, if the TSX comes out with the 2.3T and SH-AWD, it will be like a grown-up Evo (albeit slightly slower), one of the cars he's considering.

I know they are two completely different cars but I don't necessary have any restrictions on what to get. It can be rwd, fwd, awd, convertible, 2-4 door, back seats to none, none of that matters at all. So I'm basically looking at a badass sports car... that's the only real limit [MINE]So the limit is it has to be a badass sports car[/MINE] I have! haha
Just thought I would see what you guys would do with $30K. Thanks for the help in advance!

It is obvious he wants opinions on $30k sports cars and not what would you do if you had $30k and wanted to buy a car. Come on stack....you are slightly better then this.
