Any small displacement, 32 valve v8 with a quality aftermarket exhaust. My neighbor had an RS4 and like a small child, every time he would fire it up, I would go to the window and stare. The combination of the valve train whine and the exhaust note is just intoxicating to me.

I can't stand the noise from that engine and all of the vehicles that share it sound exactly the same. I always picture a dying dinosaur when I hear it. Way to common and annoying imo.

The BMW v10 sounds amazing to me, like an F1 car. It's one of the few cards I think sounds good with an exhaust. Otherwise exhausts generally are just noise makers IMO, I'm prefer induction sounds.
