Exclamation What are some new cars that's coming in 05?

Hey gang,

I'm feeling much better now, and I think I'm done with my rehab. So, I'm ready for my next sportscar and I'm ready to buy, and soon. I thought about waiting for the end of the year or even next year, but I figured I'll bug you guys/gals for some ideas. I can go anywhere from $30-45k, so what are some of my options?

I know about the 05 STi and Evo (even the possible MR).
I'm not too crazy about the RX-8 (sorry Ryan), 350z, G35 (sorry Bryan), Lotus Elise (sorry offroadr), BMW Z4 (maybe ???).

I like the new SLK350 but that's at my top of the price bracket, and with some extras it'll easily go beyond $50k (that's little too much). Same with M3, I'm not sure how much the extras will push the envelope to beyond $45k (I don't even know what the going price for those are). Maybe the M3 price will drop once the new redesinged M3 comes out?

I like the new C6, will definitly wait for that (but I never owned a Vette before), and no I don't want the huge discounted C5.

Any improvements on the S for MY05? (I'm guessing no becuase of the 04 changes)

Anybody know when the Boxster coupe is due? and it's going rate?

So, whatelse ? I CAN wait 1-2 years if I have to, but I saved up quite a bit by driving the Civic and not speding $$$ on mods for the S .

Thanks,

LT

wait for the boxster coupe...will prolly start at 45k maybe higher.

too bad you don't like the g35...but at that price range, i'd wait for the g35cx and put a twin turbo.

I'm not sure there is much new you don't already know about. The SLK is new with a 3.6L V6 supposed to be much better than the first gen. The Boxster I don't know maybe next year but it'll be more of a re-fresh. I'd really like to see a Boxster Coupe.

Looks like the C6 and the Elise are the 2 cars in this price range to have.

M3 well it's not exactly a sports car. I can't see them discounted much.

I'd like to see a new RX-7 or Supra.

New BMW 3 series will be out in a bit. Ma be worth waiting for depending on the standard engines.

FYI, for 05, the G35 gets 290-300hp.

I'm not crazy about adding aftermarket turbos. Too high maintenance and unreliable and $$$ to keep them running. What's the x at the end of g35cx stands for? Are they making an all wheel drive version of the coupe? If, I may have to include that to my list.

"FYI, for 05, the G35 gets 290-300hp." That does sound nice. It's just that 4 people that I know already have the G35 and it doesn't have that exotic/fun feel compare to other $30k cars that we own.

I wonder when the boxster coupe will appear...

I was just playing on the bmw website and M3 starts at $47k but, maybe it'll come down once the next generation M3s arrive.

Like I said, I can wait 1-2 years, but I may not have to...

If you don't want to wait two years I would lean towards the C6. I have owned C2, C3, and C4 Corvettes and the C2 and C3 were great cars while the C4 I owned was pure crap. The C5 was too big to interest me much but the new C6's are smaller and I think will be worth a serious look. If you want to wait a while the Boxster coupe moves up the list.

Get a nice used 911, and sell it in 3 years for pretty much what you bought it for (assuming you don't go and put a million miles on it)

Where's a good place to start looking for a used 911?

I thought about a used NSX as well, I'm keeping up with NSXprime for that one.

Thanks,

LT
