Default While we get the new Taurus, they get the new Falcon

It's like an Acura TL and Pontiac G8 both slept with the same girl and they don't know who's it is

Looks sick!!

Dumb question though.. It says its powered by a Boss 5.0 Supercharged engine but only puts out 449hp and 420tq?? Did I miss something?

I'm with Rick on this one. Looks great but the power figures have to be off, since it's only a 37hp gain over stock with a supercharger.

They might use different fuel there, or have more strict emissions over in OZ.

Yeah, but it appears to have twice the ugly.

Frankly I'll stick with the Taurus (SHO). That thing looks like it was designed by a high school kid.

I fricking HATE the new Taurus. It looks like they put a very square/bricklike sedan body on a giant SUV. Also, engine hung out in front of the front wheels = teh suxorz, even w/ awd.

*IF* i were interested in a big heavy sedan, Falcon >>>>>>>>>> Taurus. Lookswise as well.

While I have seen lots of new Fiestas and Focus I have hardly seen any new Taurus or Explorers.

Australia Ford have been using the Boss name for their top V8's for many years, and while the 5.0 is the same 5 liter design as the one in the new Boss Mustang, it's not the same motor. They use a low-pressure positive-displacement supercharger to increase torque at low rpms so the motor has a really broad powerband. Apparently peak torque is available from 2200-5500 rpm. And peak power is at 5750 rpm, vs. 7400 rpm in the US Boss 302 Mustangs. In other words, it makes more torque but operates at lower rpm.

The Falcon is a family car, so a high-revving V8 would not be a huge selling point. On the other hand, with the Australian motor, you probably wouldn't have to shift out of 6th gear to pass on a two lane.

Quick Reply: While we get the new Taurus, they get the new Falcon
