Who does the roadster better?

Jaguar F-Type, or BMW Z4?

Similar weight, price, proportions, and power.

One comes with a true manual transmission...

One arguably looks better...

I picked Jag because you can still get a manual.

Jag, hands down. Looks better, looks unique, definitely sounds better, offers manual transmission, huge selection of engines from four-banger turbo to supercharged V8. It's still too heavy for my taste but it's an amazing looking car and, with the V6 or V8, sounds fantastic.

Mazda.

Do we have a curb weight for the new Z4?

The Jag is definitely the better looking car. The Z4 has always been meh IMO. The Z3 was a weird parts car that seemed to sell well, but the Z4 went through the standard BMW design and came out boring.

I was really hoping the joint development with Toyota would mean the new Z4 would be different but it seems like more of the same. Doesn't give me high hopes for the Supra.

Jaguar has a more race bred construction with the aluminum rivet bonding and double wishbone suspension. Granted the F Type design is now like 5 years old and Z4 is brand new design.

Jaguar F-Type for sure

Man, this is sad for BMW. Z4 is not even on sale yet and it's thoroughly outclassed by a car that's been on the market for 6 years now.

Is it though? Until there's a true head-to-head comparison, I don't think we can say it's outclassed. Maybe I'm just being pedantic.

Sure, maybe the Z4 is like sparkly magic to drive. But given their so-so efforts in recent years, I doubt it. A lot of a roadster purchase is about style and emotion, and it seems they've already lost that battle in the eyes of everyone here (and other places I've read).
