This. I just bought a Stelvio this month as my daily driver car. Considering it's an SUV it's an absolute blast to drive, it really thinks it's a sports car. I can't emphasize enough how I'm blown away by how good it feels to drive. I don't think it's fair to apply Alfa's 20 year old reliability record to these. I've had many Hondas and as a initial impression I don't feel like the Alfa seems to be of lower quality. The transmission is an ZF 8HP that is in many cars including a ton of BMWs. Engine is an unknown obviously being a relatively new design. I'd say the thing that bugs me the most is how the the Alfa is very computer connected and things aren't necessarily simple to diagnose. I think that's somewhat an effect of how cars are done today especially with the European brands. It's just a stark contrast to my S2000 that is crazy easy to work on.

If you like the Giulietta then at least do some research, the Giulia and Stelvio will have been out a few years by then. If your only thought is "oh it's an Alfa Romeo it will break down" then you should probably swap your S2000 for a Corolla or something then. I'm not saying to like it (that's subjective), but I would expect S2000 owners to be the ones that would appreciate someone enjoying driving dynamics and subjective beauty over practicality.

Exactly what we'd like for our next spousemobile, depending on specification.

Interested in particularly:
Door count
Pedal count
Curb weight

I am kinda feeling it too. There was supposed to be a Guilia with three pedals and that never happened, but they rushed it to market. Now that they have the chasis and powertrain sorted hopefully they can bring a manual here. I actually really dig the rendering of the car in the C&D story. If they make it look like that, I think I want one.

They have a manual Giulia QV in some other countries. It was nixed last minute for the U.S. because of crash regulations

3 doors, 3 pedals, hot hatch weight and power, reasonable price and sign me up. I don't need it to be 450hp, I need it to be 250-300hp, decently light, and not make me want to shop a bmw m240/m2.
But we all know it's going to be 5 doors only, so that way you'll have company to help you push...

Dude it doesn't matter, most of the retards on this forum hear one issue with a car and it's game over - suddenly every car has the same issue. As a test you can make a thread here about RX7s, a bunch of morons will jump in the thread talking about how bad rotaries are and apex seals.
