WRX STi
Well. I've made up my mind. With the absence of the White/Red and the Black/Red, and the lack of practicality of the S2000 for a college student, I'm planning on trying to get the upcoming WRX Sti.
If anyone has any insider info or even rumors, please post.
When's the projected introduction of the STi to the US market? I heard somewhere around March 2003.
Is it possible to get on the waitlist for one right now?
Thanks.
Ciao,
Bryan

IMO, EVO is slightly faster than WRX Sti, but the chassis can't match to the power, so EVO need many electronic tech like AYC to make the car stable.
WRX Sti is slightly slower than EVO, but the chassis and structure are enough to handling the power, plus WRX Sti has 6 speed transmission.
I will pick the WRX Sti over the EVO too.

We've got the EVO VI here as well as the STi. I've now seen a few local track comparisions where they had both cars and there's a big difference between the EVO and STi in terms of performance ... the EVO always blows away the STi. It blows it away in terms of lap times (good 2 secs quicker around a 1:40 lap) as well as in terms of acceleration. The EVO is in e46 M3 and new 911 league of acceleration while the STi is in the league of the S2000.
Also, about the STi they always say that the car feels much more like a front-wheel-drive car while the EVO feels a like a rear-wheel-drive. It is not hard to get the back out in the EVO under power while in the STi you can only do it on trailing throttle ... under power it will only understeer.
Besides that, on my last track day there was a new STi (ie, the new shape) and I was very surprised to see that on the straight he could not pull away from me (80 - 160kph). If anything I'd say I was a tad quicker in the S2000 once it got towards the end of 3rd gear.
ps. I've also driven an EVO VI and even though I cannot really comment on it'd handling first-hand, I can say first-hand that the EVO has got incredible acceleration ... it pull like a train from as low as 2500rpm.

What are reliability issues on current model EVO's and generally about the cars produced by Mitsubishi?
