It looks nice, but touch operated devices don't belong as controls to be operated by the driver. Sorry, it tilts me

Ridiculous. Distracting, unnecessary, overly complicated, time consuming to use, etc, etc.

But its the future, so it has to be touch screen. Hollywood says so.

Wont matter before long now anyway, when cars are driving themselves and you have plenty of time to order dinner, schedule your doctors appointment and use twitter all from dash command center.

It'd be awfully uncomfortable, leaning forward to play with the screen constantly. Makes more sense to have a "command" hub in the car and tablets to operate (via wifi/bluetooth) as desired. Voice command is obviously even better, for some operations, but we know how good voice command is (ie, very hit-and-miss, depending on the manufacturer and what kind of accent you have).

Yep, work in progress. Next evolution coming in industry, but still in the testing/awkward phase. In 10 years cars will be 100% driverless on a pretty broad scale with a back up steering wheel in the corner. Kids wont even know what its for, let alone the concept of manually driving yourself, thats scary! Kind of sad. But it does seem to be the natural evolution.

And there is one in the steering wheel. That'll feel good when you smash your face into it after the inevitable crash you'll have staring at the screen.

that's F**kin stupid. you think people are distracted now? Looks nearly impossible to just change the radio, adjust the fan, turn on A/C without using some menu. There is ZERO haptic feedback. I can adjust the climate control on my 2000 civic, and my s2000 without taking my eyes off the road, even mid corner.

Don't worry, in about 20 years we will be tapped into the computer via our thoughts, its the new hands free control. The technology is already being successfully played with on a "basic" scale, that we know of.
