Also, I am really shocked to learn that the GT350 is 3,800 lbs. I could have sworn Ford said it would be 3,600. That's too much heft for my tastes.

The Evora is an amazing car to drive and nothing else is like it at it's price point. The next cars that have a similar feel are McLaren or Ferrari and they are way more expensive. The engine is a non-issue on the car. An oil change once a year is it. You'll never have the engine in your thoughts owning an Evora.

Get a C7Z. People have purchased 1LZ models below $70k brand new. You could find a steal on a used one with a GM warranty for up to 7 years. You won't have to spend anywhere near $65k for a 2LZ slightly used and it is a fantastic street car. Definitely go drive one.

If there was any reasonable option for making big power in an Evora, I would buy one right now. I love those cars. They look like phenomenal.

What is "big power" to you? The Evora S can make around 400 hp, but I would contend you can drive it faster or deeper into corners to make up some of the power deficit. I would suggest driving the Evora S and then come back to whether the power is sufficient or not. The braking is just out of this world on the Evora. Best steel brakes I have ever used. GT350 is up there, but it's not quite the Evora when throwing on the brakes.

The Evora 400 is just plain fast, but those are still at 90K used.

Why:
-Brakes are incredible.
-Handles like a car weighing 1000 pounds less. Tossable in corners is not a problem for this car, but downright surprising for a car of this size.
-I autocrossed it once never shifting out of first and trimmed more than 2 seconds off my lap time. There's something special about that 8200 rpm redline.
-Pick up an easy 50+ hp to the wheels with just a tune and E85 (cheaper than regular)
-Has every creature comfort you'd want, none of what you don't need
-Looks. The car looks amazing in any color. Turns heads everywhere...even the guys/gals driving Corvettes end up staring.
- Sound...Though you only really get to hear this at full song for one or two gears...By the time you hit third if you run it all the way out you're going to be close to breaking every speed limit in this country.
-Has a usable, if not downright large amount of storage space thanks to folding rear seats.

I'll add one to your list you should consider...2015+ Roush RS3. Go for the truly unique P51 edition.

My Corvette weighs almost exactly the same, makes a bajillion more torkies, and has about 50 more horsepower than an Evora 400 and way more than a regular Evora S, and I consider the Corvette to be slower than I'd prefer. I really appreciate the Evora for what it is and I agree that it's a great car. I just want it to have 500+ horsepower.

I voted GT350, but if it had been an option may have voted for a Corvette Gran Sport.

Personally it's close enough that were it me, I'd probably test drive the GT350, Gran Sport, and ZL1.

As to Lotus Evoras, isn't it true that the entire rear half of the vehicle has to be removed to access the clutch? That's quite concerning if true.
