2015 Audi A8 - Matrix LED Headlights
Technically very interesting...

... but I always considered LED lighting's major benefits were efficiency and cool-operation; these Audi headlights are equipped with individual heat-sinks for each matrix element and cooling fans. That suggests a lot of heat is generated.
And I wonder what the price for one of these headlight units is? It will make a minor front-end knock a very expensive repair methinks...

Quite like the automatic fading out of other road users!
One of the big issues on the roads in recent years is the advance in headlights in my opinion. Modern headlights are so bright that I find getting dazzled more and more of an issue so this advance might be really useful (if it actually works!)

The run of the mill Mercs have been using LED dipped and/or mains with 'tuning' of the pattern by camera for a while now.
I have them on the E-Class and the lighting is extremely good, more natural colour than any Xenons and better coverage.
Agreed on the real-world benefits, but can't recall the last time I got onto high beam even daily driving over 30k miles a year

There I was thinking it was just my eyes getting worse with age and needing more carrots in my diet.

The LEDs themselves are cool, I believe; it's the electronics that drive them which tend to get very hot.
One advantage apparently is, there are a lot on individual light sources (Acura are using two each for dipped & main & they are diffracted into upper & lower lenses) so it's less dazzling than one Xenon.
