Anyone bought or leased anything recently?

Liked the Kia Sportage we had. Also had a sit in a Mazda CX3 ( depressingly small ) and a Mazda CX5 ( depressingly huge and expensive in nice trim ) .... can't even get my heart rate above flatline about either of them even if they were half the price they are and heaven help you if you get jiggy with the options list.
Which brings me back to the Hyundai Tucson and the Kia Sportage. Can get them both delivery miles, < 12 months old, balance of massive warranty remaining and neither pretend to be anything other than efficient white goods and a fat discount over the price of a new one and buying new really doesn't get you anything different / better / more pleasant.
The third optiion for me is one of the last of the 2 generations ago CR-V. 2.2 EX Diesel with the panoramic glass roof, auto, leather seats and can be had for no more than £12k which is basically VW UP money.

Had a 2012 model for 3 years and put stellar miles on it. No issues whatsoever. No pocket rocket but very comfortable and supposedly a better drive than the replacement model.

And as I said earlier, diesel isn't an issue for me either, at least in terms of the publicity, potential urban charges, etc
I am struggling to see any designs I like and I want a car into this category to be a little different
I've yet to drive any of the following new cars but I like their styling:
Kia Stonic (what a name!)
Toyota C-HR
Hyundai Kona
Also I can't ignore:
Jaguar E-Pace (prefer F-Pace but just too big)
Volvo XC40
I miss my Vauxhall Omega estate. I have a tumble dryer to move.

Stonic sounds like something you get for anal issues .... the C-HR is doom and gloom inside and the door cards have the same pattern as 90s polystyrene meat trays ..... HyundaiKona said quickly sounds like some kind of martial art.
If it's on lease / under warranty and you DGAF about monthly cost - why not just have at it and lease a Stelvio with the silly engine in it

I reckon that Alfa would spend half it's lease at the dealer
ditto any jaaaaag
The infiniti's are a left field idea but probably noone else bothers for a reason. Someone on here had a Volvo but it was made of pastry according to his review, I am still tempted for ride but a guy at work had his XC60 intercooler burst, not that old, smacks of cheap parts to me and they are complex.
You want a smooth ownership experience.. I'd get that new VW plank shyte. Tariq/Q2 whatever.. the skoda is probably the best lease
A diesel ought to be free atm

I tend to think Infinities only make sense as a used purchase, due to the massive depreciation.
If you can live with the alleged lack of steering feel, you essentially get a stretched Nissan 370Z - which Gad did like, IIRC.
Being less contaminated by Renault stuff, they are likely pretty reliable. But they are so rare, statistical significance (and finding one) are problematical.

Are you thinking of the Hybrid or conventional CHR?
Put in a load of kit for the hybrid when we started making the engines.
Hybrid will be uninspiring to drive but should get you something like 55-60mpg

If it's anything like the RAV4 Hybrid, it ought to be pretty good.
I rather enjoyed driving that. Once the novelty of playing with the HSD has worn off, it might be different...
