I can see the lawsuits now - apple will complain that since they invented the 'wheel' that other manufacturers should pay them royalties. Ditto for doors, transparent glass, and 'rounded edges' on body panels.

The difference between phones and cars is obviously price.

An £800 phone is expensive, but 'most' people can afford £800.

An £80k car is expensive and most people can't afford it.

And being an apple device, it will only let you buy certain tyres, fill up at certain approved electricity vendors and won't allow you to travel on the M6 toll because it refused to pay Adobe the rights to use it.

It's power balance sports bracelet only worse.

 

At least you wont have to push 'start' to stop it.

 

And a two year warranty/guarantee by default from JL. I buy all my Apple goods there rather than the Apple store, (mostly because the I hate squeezing past "chavs logging into their FB accounts on the iMacs they have no intention nor ability to buy" just annoy me. Christ I'm a snob!)
