Been offered a nice Skyline...

And I am tempted.

Its a mint R33 GTR in midnight purple. Going to have a try in it tonight so I will report back my findings! Totally standard, 60k miles new belts, lambda's etc.

Its a mate of a guy at work. I have always wanted one, but cant afford a 34. The bonus is that he's not in a rush to sell so that fits, and its only going to be about

Why not buy it, run it for a few months, and sell on ? Itch scratched.

ask for an extended test - say the weekend - agree a payment to cover say 200 miles of driving, and you comprehensively insure it

he is covered and you avoid acting on a whim

I would. Had an R32 GTR and I loved the power, but then again I didnt have to sell my S.

Drive the GTR for a while and you will know what to do.

Good luck.

P.S. Repairs on a GTR are very very expensive :banghead:

Personally I wouldnt do it, but then again that is because I use the s as a daily driver, 60miles or so a day, Weekdays. Think id have to own kuwait to fund the fuel on a Skyline if you catch my drift.

Beautiful cars tho, thought about one before the s

:thinker:

Jeez that's a good price. A mate of mine had a R32 in purple back in '93. It cost him 11.5k to buy and 2k to insure back then.

:iagree: ,

You can strip your s of all those nice mugen bits and store them. If you don't like it you can just buy another S and put them back on again. (we know you like to tamper). If you do keep it you'll easily sell the parts, except the wheels of course, no one will want them.

Good points all. Pete, I will be having a few goes of it so hopefully I wont make any snappy decisions!

Ive run a high powered STi for a while so I know about 22mpg land :(

I couldnt afford to keep both so would keep the bits off the S and get another in 6 months or so. I doubt id lose out at that price either :)

You beat me to it Marc :D

Its going to have to be damn special, and I fear its going to dissapoint me.

There's a guy near me who has 5 Skylines, and was featured in Jap Car. Owns the Jun uper Lemon. I kept up with hs 400bhp R33 to about 100 in the S :) After that its really a bit nuts unless you're on track - and I dont do much.

Most of it is because of the presence it has, and that its a Skyline!

60k miles? I think the turbo's need replacing every 60000 miles. And that won't be cheap. But I can't remember where I heard that.
