It not being your car makes it more difficult imo, and I don't expect he could pay for it on journalist money.

A friend of mine regularly does it flat in his S2000 now. I have his first time recorded from the car behind! He gets a little wobble on half way through but no lifting! You can tell by the exhaust note

Yeah, when it's your mates car maybe, but that was Radical's car and as if he was ever going to pay for it if he stacked it!

I dont think a motoring journalist like Bovingdon can afford to publcally stack a race car.

I know you're a hero and would have done it in reverse on attempt 1, but I'd reccomend driving Spa first

Yes but that's a moot point as the engineer is there TELLING HIM DIRECTLY - you can go flat out.

That's a free ticket to nail it and get away with it even if he crashed. And all journos have stacked at least one expensive car. It's usually kept hush hush.

Like I said, if it's your own car, I'd be more understanding. If it's your mates car probably wouldn't bother trying.

I know but why sensationalise it? Appreciate Spa for what it is instead of bigging it up as some mythical beast that cannot be slayed.

It's a track that I'm sure is a wonderful experience, but the next thing you know it'll be some sort of pub ammo p1ssing contest on how 'my chipped 335d took Eau Rouge flat out.'

I think the closest I had to that boll0cks was Craners (NOT Cascades which is of course Oulton Park!) at Donington. So much hype over a corner that I thought was 'meh' and that was in the wet. Now Schwantz corner was brill - tricky, off camber, required a lot of balance of the throttle. Enojyed that lots.

Think you mean Craners, Ron!

Again it depends what you're driving. Craners is flat in the S and the Caterham, but doing it in something mega quick with downforce is not something you just jump in and do. The vast difference in speed takes a lot of getting used to.

Craners at near 100, wheel to wheel with another screaming Honda is fun though

Now you're talking about racing which is a completely different kettle of fish.

I remember watching this and leaping out of the chair - I thought everyone was dead - Webber, Alonso, the crowd, everyone. One of my all time favourite overtakes!

Quick Reply: Eau Rouge. Flat out…?
