Evora S test drive

It's a total weapon :D

I drove the NA Evora a few months back, and having now tried the S it's almost identical to drive, just a chest pressurisingly quicker :D Gearchange quality has improved, although it's a lot stiffer. Suspension feels a bit firmer and doesn't quite glide like the NA Evora, but it's very very close. They have obviously had to adjust some things to cope with the extra power. Doesn't quite sound as nice as the standard one but I expect a sports exhaust would sort that. Can't hear the supercharger which is good though.

The power is the main difference and with the sport button in, it's license losing stuff.

Very impressed indeed. Although I wouldn't be disappointed with either, and with the standard Evora hovering around £40k used, it's a lot of car for the money. The NA one is perfectly fast imo, Cayman S levels but with better handling imo. Deal on the table for the demo Evora S is almost too tempting, but it was the same colour as my old Exige and i'd prefer white if I was buying.

I've test driven 4 cars in my life!

Exige, which I bought. GTR, which I put a deposit on then bottled it... Then the Evora, and now Evora S :)

MB,

You've actually test driven about 100 cars. The trouble is, you've bought all bar four!

Interesting review. I've heard they've added a lot of caster to the S. Quite why, I dunno.

Shame about the ride; I thought the hellawheels made the standard car only just acceptable and it'd be a shame to lose that.

The car I drove had a fart pipe; it was OK, but as usual with fart pipes, it was disguising a bland engine.

Think I like the sound of the NA car better. Should be cheap as chips in another year or so.

White's just the current fad.

Although given how quickly you'll get rid of it, it'll probably still be "in".

I can't think of a car in white that doesn't look better in a different colour.
