electronic spoil sports
my old cbr would pull a little power wheelie under moderate accelleration but other than that no torque meant you had to clutch it
i want to avoid e-nanny, e-throttle, e-bike
luddite..
my XSR needs nowt and has a cable .. but is rusting

Oh if you crack the throttle you can feel it lift but it then goes forward not upwards. It's such a nice thing to ride slow or quickly. We still have other bikes, 400SF and a C90 but I like my Z - really like it.

i think for year round use a bigger bike could actually be less ideal (in winter) but then i have the CRF so could use that. the valves need a check but other than that regular oil is as easy as cleaning the chain so no big deal.
the thing is simple too.. and a Honda. we will see i guess.
will take a ride on the xsr900 and the CBs i think. warranty is up in August.

2017 cbr1000rr
Hello,
Anyone have/had a 17 blade? Picked this as I like the look of it and familiar with Hondas. Im looking to get one to possibly take on the track on get some experience with it there having riden the 600rr. What are they like for normal use on roads. Ill be taking one out on a test ride soon I hope but was looking for some long term owner opinions if any.
Thanks

had a look at the Hondaa today...
650R looks cheap
1000R looks huge
ironically only 10kg weight difference.. will ride in a couple of weeks and see. i am wondering whether off piste might be the way or just mod up the XSR

I'm in the mood for a cheap Street triple at some point or another noisy twin. Arrow headers on the Z in a week and maybe a quickshift kit for next year

i bought a single seat for the XSR.. sensible says stick with the two, the XS workhorse, the CRF for dirty weather
been working on the electrics on the Honda, the bullet connectors were total shit so i went for locking connectors instead. ebay special.
also removed the spark arrestor for more bass.. its funny, stand behind it and its like you are being slapped in the face. 1700 rpm is only 425 slaps per minute
enjoying trying to tune it.. so far
changed the oil
rewired for street, lights, brake light, ignition
chain adjusted
new seat
new suspension link (shortarse mod)
new rear hydraulic switch
change fluid & bleed brakes
new plate light
cleaned carb jets, fitted JD needle
there is no end of course.. needs a valve clearance check, fuel filter clean, trans oil
i have never worked on bikes before, 2 x CBR600RRs are not easy to work on, the XS is under warranty, the CB before was my first bike and the CRF250 was bullet proof Honda...
