Default German knackers

https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1706828/used-cars-least-reliable-brands-bmw-audi-vauxhall-porsche/amp

Top 10 least reliable marques (out of 100)
  1. Porsche - 35.1
  2. Land Rover - 40.2
  3. Jaguar - 48.2
  4. Alfa Romeo - 52.4
  5. Audi - 58.6
  6. BMW - 59.8
  7. Mercedes-Benz - 60.4
  8. Vauxhall - 68.0
  9. Volvo - 68.9
  10. Mitsubishi - 69

Odd how Audi are right up there but the Spanish versions (Seat) and budget versions (VW) are not

Is there a 'most reliable' table for comparison? Expecting to see S Korean and Japanese (Honda?) well up there

I think simple would be up there Rog, maybe not hybrids

My e had an issue today.. flat batt in the remote. It's a cool little feature in that it has a pop out key which is then used to crack open the case

CR2032 and done for 2 years

The flat 12v being the only proper issue so far in 13k and 23 months

That's interesting. I have only changed the battery in my S remote once in 21 years - I have the OEM Honda remote, and not the Arnold Palmer... Is Honda beginning to slack?

It's over busy, the e has keyless so opens whenever I walk by. You use it to precon, holding buttons down for 5-6s

Key never goes in car and they constantly communicate as a result apparently

I hate keyless unlock as I often have the key in my pocket. It's twatty shyte.

Manual says 2yrs and it was very close, think this car was 08/20 reg

Here you go:
https://www.warrantywise.co.uk/blog/...kes-and-models
https://www.warrantywise.co.uk/blog/...kes-and-models

It doesn't tie in with the Express report, but the indx is not great, as it combines repair cost with number of claims, so isn't really a measure of reliabilty.
Number of claims/Number of policies issued would be better.

This is really interesting: https://www.warrantywise.co.uk/blog/...air-bills-2017

The bill for my Honda warranty claim was twice the cost of any of these...

Cheers LG only real surprise was seeing Subaru on the 10 least reliable list.
Mine were doggie wagons after I had to move the SC Mugen wagon on.
Quite unexpected they are there, never gave a moments problem.

Yes I felt your pain on the Honda warranty claim. Atypical for Honda. But an element of the Honda UK dickheads in there?

Mate of mine text me today, asking me to take a look at his 21 reg Q3 Black TFSI
Plugged in my OBD Eleven specifically for VAG cars.. 9 faults it had... 9!!
A massive array of sensor faults - this from twatting a particularly large sleeping policeman too fast by Costco. Totally upset the entire steering angle sensor, wheel sensors, TPMS, radar sensor, the lot.
That's the real reason for the surveys...

Putting my 2002 S2 back on the road early next week as the 99 one has a few brake pipes overdue for replacement. Will take it to autosport in mid Jan, must remove the cat before I go near Brum
