I preferred Redline/Max Power to Evo
I received the new edition of EVO a couple of days ago and once again I've found myself reading it very quickly, skimming over the longer articles and quickly skipping over the Dino article. In contrast, a work colleague of my Dad, who knows I like cars and bikes, passed to Dad the current editions of Max Power and Redline. I've been much more interested in their articles, particularly the Top Fuel carbonfibre S2000 in Redline. I also find the online diaries on the Practical Performance Car website good reading.
After being a subscriber for several years I think I'm just tired of the EVO writing style - it all reads the same and their findings are terribly predictable. Their recount of driving some winding road with the accompaniment of the latest V8/V10/V12 just bores me.
In contrast, Max Power's attempt to return to its earlier, better quality, days seems pretty successful. Reading about the fettling of a quite humdrum car puts a smile on my face (even though I could guess Gad's thoughts on such a car )
Is this just the modder in me, or is anyone else tiring with EVO? (I know MarkB did a long time ago!)

Come on then, what car whas it. I'll tell you what I think......
I have been tired of EVO for a long time. I think it is pretentious twaddle.
I'm feeling spiteful today, so I'll also tell you that I (absolutely, undeniably) know of one of the EVO mob's missuses being porked on the qt
He never did find out as far as I know
He's such a complete twunt, I can understand why she did it

Regarding the XKR, looks like no car is safe from the power of "maxpower"!
The bird looks quite tidy though!
