Surprisingly a Nissan is filthy

a new VW is genuinely clean

and an old petrol Golf is awful

Hmmm.

Conclusions hard to draw ...except, go no closer to central London than the north/south circular in any fossil fuelled car.

My conclusion would be that OEMs need to be treated like crooks and real world testing needs to happen followed by jail for culpable mofos

disgraceful that cars are on sale with emissions 18 times higher than the limit!

imagine what those empty buses are pumping out

Is that webshite something by Siobhan Stevens from W1A? BBC Meee?

TL:SR.

But yes, he does seem to get finally to the point.

Nose test is best; if it stinks like a barbecue fuelled by brown coal, it's probably overdue for crushing. It tends to be shit brands (crawly old PSA vans and Vauxhall Dombos and stuff) that are the culprits. Or 3/4 million mile Crafters.

Aside from Jerzy von Krakpotz in his stupidly-chipped old BMW, of course.

There is the slight issue of buses, a knackered old Cummins L10 bus engine simply emits ten litres' worth of stink, whereas a knackered TDS 1.9 emits considerably less. More than 1/5th, since its operating speed is higher.

Still, I suppose all those emissions will have a Darwinesque effect on the sperm count of the deadly but silent lycra brigade riding round on fixed gears inhaling toxia and killing old ladies foolish enough not to get out of their way in time.

I think the pounding form the razor-saddles on the vagus nerve of Lycra Louts already takes care of that.

Probably why they're so angry all the time.

I hate buses. On my commute for 5 months they've been building a bus lane which prevents me filtering as the lanes are too narrow

in that time i've probably seen 5 buses

nottm civil servants are prize ****wits

when i lived in Portsmouth i'm sure the buses half killed me, cycling around as a student in their smog
