Looking at a Honda crv 2014
Any pointers for the air con layout on these
Just been looking at one I like but the air con isn't working. They say it has 2 rads and might need one replacing! Not clued up but prior to hearing this I hoped a quick recharge would do. They also said they hadn't looked at it!! My thinking is just get it done. Anyway, I had bartered on the price but anyone know of a ghost layout if the air con system. Cheers |
Put the reg no into Ling's Honda website and all will be revealed.
Including the cost of the heat exchangers/pipes... |
Thanks

I'd look for another car unless this one is exceptional in all other respects and priced to reflect the air con problem. You could easily spend £1K - £2K getting the air con fixed. Take to a specialist so you're dealing with facts.

I wouldn't touch it unless you had someone perform a leak check on it first to see what is happening. I've had a few problems with Honda aircon over the last few years. A common fault is a little relay that can be got from EBay for £10ish which I kept replacing on my MK8 civic (same faulty part on the CRV) until then everything went on it. I have a 13plate CRV now and the condensor started leaking which most places insisted was a dealer only part and was £950 fitted from Honda, I eventually found a place locally but still cost £320 fitted and regassed. Never had a problem with the S2000 aircon though in the ten years we've had it.
It can be a minefield and best to equip yourself with more info before making a decision. Other than that the CRV is pretty good, we even bought another one for family duties. |
Bought it. The rad was on it but damaged, hopefully just a £60 ebay job plus gassing, will visit an air con place first to check it over
1.6dtec fwd, not bad |
Cool stuff.
