Ha! The joys of TVR motoring. I passed a Cerbera on the hard shoulder of the M6 southbound, near Keele services yesterday - the bonnet was popped and steam was billowing from the engine compartment.

I had a even bigger laugh last week when I drove past a Boxster which had broken down on one of the main roads into Birmingham city centre, much to the chagrin of the bloke to whom it belonged. It was being hauled onto the back of a low-loader. He looked daggers at me as I cruised past with the roof down and smiled at him I was tempted to drop the clutch and rev the engine as I went past, but just about resisted the temptation.

Cool idea for a thread.

I'll keep an eye out.

(It does seem a bit like blowing one's own trumpet, but that never did anyone any harm........did it ? )

I reckon 50% of TVR breakdowns are caused by running out of fuel. This is not the first roadside TVR which I've spotted this year either.

Better still, you could have raised & lowered the roof to show off - this would have still been about an hour less than a boxster roof drop (sorry Sanj)

I don't think you'd laugh if you were on a 1/4 mile track and a TVR Tuscan came thundering past the finish line and you came past the same finishing line about 5 seconds later, even if you set off at the same time.

TVR Tuscun 0-100 in 9.1 secs
S2000 0-100 in 14.5 secs

I would still take a New TVR over the S2000.
As someone said, how many of these 'breakdowns' are caused by stupid owners who don't check their oil or let it run out of petrol?

hmmmmm
