Default Porsche specialists in Cheshire / North West / North Wales

A friend of mine has a MY03 911 Carrera 4 and has been using these guys JMH but is trying to find a specialist a bit closer to Chester.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

It's a bit further away from Chester than JMH (assuming that they're still in Holmes Chapel - I didn't click the link) but Mike at Sports & Classic in Knutsford looked after my 993 and I would recommend him wholeheartedly. He's Porsche-trained (ex OPC Wilmslow, I think) and his rates are reasonable (or at least were when he looked after my car a few years ago).

JMH were the other lot I looked at when first considering where to get work done, and they got mixed reports on the Pistonheads Porsche board so I went with S&C instead.

My Dad's mate used to trust his various RS 911s to Tech9

Again, not exactly on his doorstep, but Hartech (IIRC in Bolton) are also very well-regarded in 911 circles.

my business partner trusts them with his 997 C4S and his 911 track car. Very knowledgeable, very fair and competitive pricing.

Tech9 are very expensive, I was quoted £949 by them for a clutch change whereas JMH quoted £834, both using the same Sachs kit.

JMH also offer a courtesy car for £5.

Saying that I'm going in to Porsche tomorrow to have a key coded, just coded not supplied - £72 for 30mins charged time, or 10mins actual work.

I do get a free "health check" and they will also wash and hoover the car which is a new one on me.
