Along with the new 'shift light' came a switch to solid state sensors, yep - even more wiring fun - the engine loom got stripped to swap bits around, and the main loom too to match the engine side and alter things to match the new dash loom. And we now have enough wire in the main loom to power a small town. It's really enjoyable this wiring stuff, up there with having your toe-nails removed with pliers.
Anyway - here's the new 'shift-light':

And some engine loom fun:

And a shedload of wire for the main loom:

The only upside is it's basically all done, I'm just sheathing it all now and popping the connectors back on the end (not a short job, given there's about 200 pins/wires to fit into place) - the bare ended wires there are just spares let into the loom for upgrades later on.

Got a few more hours on her tonight, engine loom is done and back in, just need to add a few more switches to the dash and we're back up and running.

I sort of enjoyed modifying the loom in my S to add my oil temp and pressure sensors. Satisfying to have it neat and finished. Would I want to do it again? NO! Good effort, doing a whole loom from scratch!

It's rather soul destroying to have to cut into one you've already finished to alter things! (new sensors are all 3 wire instead of singles)
Same with the dashboard, ah well.
And the front chassis loom due to moving to solid state cutoff switches, requiring a rewire and new alternator feeds, etc.
And the main chassis loom to add them and tie into the alter dash loom, and add ballast resistors for the alternator field....

The only wiring that hasn't been redone is the one for the rear lights and fans

Actually, I'm tempted to remake the soft-starter and fan controller box now - 'cause I can 3D print a much neater box and switch over to mosfets inside instead of micro-relays....

One of the hundreds of sundries that take up so much time - 3d printer is earning its keep again - a bulkhead fitting that clips together and seals the firewall, allows connector and loom to be removed without taking out panels and seats.
Although at least we've gone for a nice festive green colour today!

That was a about 250 I think when I got it, I've probably put another 100-150 into it in upgrades.

No longer needed the coolant sensor as the new dash does it through CANBUS - obviously then, you'd just bung the old hole up, or weld it shut, not make a complete new pipe to save 50 grams, right?

So, here's the new pipe:

You know we've only had two sets of fiddle brakes, right?
You know we can't allow that.
