Did oulton on 17th, did a session myself in the morning and then let my mate have a go.. came back with no brakes..pedal to the floor gone... no loss of fluid. Identified the sticky caliper, pushed piston out and cleaned them up but one side was not going back in.... removed pistons to find this!

initially thought it was a seal but turns out its a bit of heatshrink.... how it got there is an absolute mystery! Will be stripping system down one weekend and checking over the others. Just glad it never happened on the road.

Met the previous, previous owner at oulton too! (Ben) who owned it a couple of years back.

Anyway... put back together and didnt miss a beat for the rest of the day. Out drove a lot of 'faster' cars. Just lacked top end speed. Handled really well for a standard suspension. Think i'll be looking into freshening them up or going down the nitron route.

Sheeeeet! That could've ended somewhat differently.

That's up there with the time we found a pair of trousers blocking a sewage lift pump connected to standard 4" shit pipes - no, we couldn't work it out either.

better picture of the interior carpeted out

bought a spare wheel so will be sending it off for the royal steering wheel treatment. Decided on alcantara, never had one before and for the amount the cars driven it shouldnt get battered.

Removed old cracked rear lenses

cleaned old silicone off

applied new butly tape, heated em up

Taped up and left for good measure

Walla

Noticed on of the fronts occasionally mists up so will reseal that at some point.

Plenty more to come

Glad it's all going well for you

Looks an interesting car to play with and relatively simple so hopefully minimal frustration

Another one of those cars you rarely see about nowadays
