replacment idea for my S
So S the has gone and I've decided to go for a 4 seat convertible - it will spend more time being driven and less time on the street gently converting itself to ferric oxide
Looking around I think an E93 330/335i is possibly the best option but know nothing about them, or any other BMW for that matter and imagine you lot know more than enough!
Any horror stories I should be aware of? I've read about water pumps stopping and dpf (whatever that is!) Are the turbo's on the 335i problematic? seems these aren't significantly more expensive than the 330i so wondering if running costs are disproportionately higher.
I reckon I'll be keeping for 3-5 years
Any advise greatly appreciated.... or alternative ideas?
thanks in advance

E93 is a heavy old beast, arsie had a conv M3. i've read about turbo issues with the early 35i's but no idea if that's a significant issue
i've had an E92 M3 for 6 years, been reliable. my local dealers are a joke though.

thanks nottm. seems any 4 seat convertible is going to be 1700kg+ and on that basis there're never going to be a sports car which is fine by me. want something which will be reasonably fun to drive and can take the family places when we are not taking luggage

Not yet. We don't really need a 2nd car, hence the 2000 miles pa the S did and I have used my bike more which is a plus. Nothing has really grabbed me.
Interestingly Ive seen a few more S's about which are not asking so much money but on the basis my rear arches were properly bad under the paint I probably won't go there again.
If I go convertible route I'll look around in Jan feb and 3 or early 4 series most likely or maybe A5 but whilst comfy they are pretty dull!
