Default Scumball 2007 - idea's for rusty chariot!

I've just found out that me and my mate have made it onto the Scumball 2007 for July 07. This was heavily over subscribed so chuffed that we made it.

We now have 8+ months to decide what car we will use. The criteria is as follows:-

Fast
Relatively reliable
Comfortable for 1000mile journey
Good (ish) handling- it will be doing at least 10 laps of the 'ring.
RWD - preferred
Character - needs to have that Knackered/rusty/abused look - or chavvy
Can't cost or be worth more than

Try an Alfa, they're good cars apparently, and you can pick them up dirt cheap.

I agree - a 155 with sports pack will cost a few hundred and are actually very reliable

I must be less subtle at times.

I doubt a 155 would make it to the ring and back, let alone get round it.

There was a 3.0 V6 Alfa 75 on last years run, but agree an Alfa would be pushing it on the reliability front!

Jag XJ6 (dare you!)

Nissan 200ZX sounds like a winner, or even a 300

You'll probably end up paying a premium for a 200/300 though - being snapped up by the drifters
