That range is poor, I reckon that would annoy. Evo claim 28.1 out of theirs. They must be lying/ghey. Or both.

I reckon you chose the right colour though the blue ones look ok. I saw an x1 today, it's like a fat version of the cooking 1er. Urgh

How many miles to run in?

I can get decent mpg out of it, did 27 between Leeds and Edinburgh. I just don't want to up here with the best roads ever. The noise is addictive though.

Not sure, but it's basically run in now. Ish. There's no m style 1500 mile mandatory service. I'll leave it until 1k miles before redlining it. I'm up to 6k rpm now though

I think it looks great; they've improved the styling a lot. The colour is nice, really sellable when the time comes.

I had an M135 with the 8 speed auto demo car for a week. I learnt two things in that time - 1 I would dearly like an M135i and 2 it's a bloody good job they put stability control on cars that Joe Average-Ability can buy.

It was a proper little hooligan and the only car I've driven (Kitesurfer's turbo S excluded) that I've felt obliged to tell passengers to put their head against the headrest before it kicked down.

Great choice OP.

I cant understand why its more thirsty than an old 335i N54 though.
That makes no sense at all ?

If the rear end is similar to the 3er, and I have to guess the diff will be a welded item from the 335,
then all you need to do is take it to Birds for a butchers. They are doing some off-shelf deals on Quaiffe right now

I had an old 1er as a courtesy car not long after they were launched and just couldn't get on with the rear door.
By your feet there's no length at all - 8 inches?
And at the tip the window protrudes so much that opening the door I could easily whack myself in the chest. I prefer the looks if the saloon (are they still called saloons) but not sure if the 135 is available like that

No it's a coupe 1er and I think the hatch looks better, that's a real marmite shape.

They do a 135i coupe, Moff had one and it looked proper noddy, even more so with him in it . Not sure they do an M135i but no idea of the difference.

He's in a c63 so I should take him down to Donny and make him bin it

That's why German 4-doors were invariably pointless, unless you were at D/E or E1 segment.

The recumbent driving position and provision for over-six-footers meant that the B pillar was practically level with the rear seat cushion on anything smaller. It was thus impossible to get into the back of an Ascona or TaunusCortina unless you were a paralympic and buying an Orion and believing it to be a saloon (Berlina, more correctly) was the sign of severe mental retardation.

Since French & Italian drivers clearly have simian proportions, the B-pillar (and a tendency for longer wheelbases meant a true rear door and not an awkward polyhedral letter-box)
meant almost limousine-like entry and egress. Thus, being in the back of one of their compact cars was nothing like a form of torture.

This car and the highland roads are a perfect match, I'm loving it more and more.

NOt the usual colour - much more interesting and shows a nice line.
I'm sick of seeing white 1'ers.

The red is nice but I fancy the Estoril Blue
Wifey likes these, so I'll see if I can get her to pick one up after xmas when we're done with the Reno.

Good choice mate.
Any mods planned?
It would be rude not to do the Quaife and BMS tune
