I've got the M3 on winters and it's fine, I worry about every other idiot on the road though

I nearly came a cropper this morning. Herts CC have recently resurfaced one of the roads I use, and for once, they appear to have done a good job (presumably one of the Cunty Councillors lives there?).

A super smooth surface meant black ice - I nearly went arse over tit walking to the station. (Strangely enough, the trains have been pretty good).

The pavements were an absolute 'mare a night or two back.

I ended up chasing the camber on a dropped-kerb section and ended up in the road.

A new surface is always worse as the 'oil' rises to the top for a bit ... and I guess ice maybe glazes it easier ??

A part worn surface is far better than new or old ...... if smoother to start with then when the ice freezes it is proper good

needed abs to help my icey cold ad08s and had a sideways moment too

The NA car on winters has loads more grip
