Today I bought...
An R300 race car :)
Quite excited as apart from a go-kart, i've not driven anything as exciting. Think it started with Lower taking me out in one at Donny, many years ago. The old man really wanted one, and as he's about to retire I thought it would be a good thing to do. He's doing his race license and we plan to race it next year in CSCC Magnificent 7s. Format is a 40 minute race with a driver swap. Longer term I plan to race it in the Caterham R300 Championship. The car is an ex race car, but with fresh rebuilt engine. Specs are: Ford Duratec Dry sump LSD Stack data dash I've also opted for a new Sadev 6 speed sequential which i'm looking forward to trying, as i'm not keen on the standard H pattern box on these. Still plan to race the S, but maybe a bit less that I have done. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/16/3yhequ4u.jpg |
Nutter.. Ha ha
I like. We do need pics though Mark |
Can't have two race cars without a team to run them. A bit like two of 'Er Indoors. The S will have to go?
|
You haven't changed cars as much as usual so this is a welcome post

I've had the S a few years now, and the Range Rover must be close to 2.
Old age :) Rog, I think I like the idea of a selection of race cars :D Think having a lot more space at the new place helps. Nottm, pics next week :) Will drive it like this for a while bit will get a wrap done for next season. |
Now you can go turbo nutter spec on your S :D |
Nice. Look forward to passenger ride or perhaps a test drive https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/public/st...t/thumbsup.gif

Anyone have a Seven with an S2000 engine? I've toyed with building one for 10 years.

Excellent choice (again).
I've ditched the E30 M3 project, for now anyway, for number of reasons, and I'm planning to get one of these instead and will probably do Mag 7s again. I've got all sorts of work, property and family stuff going on at the moment which means I'll have to be patient but I need to get back to racing a Caterham and a factory spec R300 is the one. I don't want anything too fancy or highly strung or that requires any development. I don't want anything so fast in a straight line it hides crap driving as I think I've deteriorated over the past few years and it's needs sorting. One of the great things about having a car built for a strictly regulated series is you get a really good idea of how you're measuring up with lap times even if you're not competing with them. Jealous of you now, but hopefully not for too much longer :D |
