the other consideration for not getting a Boxster is that I wanted to avoid the 'tosser' factor that my M3 appeared to be suffering from, everyone seems to think M3 drivers are w@nkers and when I've been out in my friends 993 you get similar treatment and I found it rather tiresome - the Jap cars seem to be 'classless' and I quite like people smiling at me as opposed to giving me the 'five knuckle shuffle sign'

I think the fact remains!!

For the money I would rather have a top of the range Honda than a bottom of the range porsche!!

I had a close look at a Z4 in NY a few weeks ago, it impressed me in the flesh and the proportions are pretty close to the S2000. At least it does not provoke uncontrolled laughter that the Z3 does.

Still I would never consider changing, I like the understated nature of the S2000, it says you value driving over having a badge.

I been a life long car magazine reader, I still think its the top Uk mag. The have given the S2000 a hard ride (if not a 3 series BMW or 911 or Scooby or Elise then everything does) and I have also been waiting for next months review of the 02my, at least its gone up 1/2 a star if you find other people opinion important when buying a car.

I do think that the poor press has help to keep the S2000 owners a select well informed group.

Top Gear on the other hand love the S. When I bought mine I had Evo on one side slagging the MY00 (3stars and a load of cr4p about steering feel!), and Top Gear on the other with about three reviews all saying how amazing the S was.

O/T Just seen my bank statement, and the Scooby is costing me so much in fuel I might as well have bought a nearly new S. Averaging 190-220 miles for 40quid at the moment, I seem to be filling up every 3-4 days.

If memory serves me well it was baby NSX who gets very upset when board members cast dispersions on the Z4
