Honda aren't famous for fabricating their figures, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt vis a vis comparable claims by their competitors. More to the point, even if they did "cheat" what are they likely to have done? Saved a couple more pounds, used race fuel, uprated pads, hired a touring car driver and remapped the engine. Even if they did all of that what right does a ~£30k FWD Civic with a good driver and basic track mods that many of us have done have to embarrass a whole host of high performance sports cars including Porsche turbos, Lamorginis and Ferraris from not long ago. I don't care if it's overkill for Tescos. It's a dragon slaying Type R with aero that isn't just for show.
