Default Who's your bet for the 2009 F1 Season?

So you're wanting to put money on the 2009 F1 Season. Who're you going to bet on? (odds below from paddypower on 13-3-09)

Yesterday Hamilton wasn't looking worthwhile at something like 7-3 I think I saw but after a poor testing session seems to be getting more worth while odds at 7-2.

Massa 5-1. Nearly got it last year but I reckon he's shot his bolt. Don't reckon he'll get a shot like that again. It's a pure gut feeling thing and based on zero evidence. Still at 5-1 might be worth a punt.

Raikkonen 7-1. A bit of an unknown quantity. If he can be arsed actually wanting to race stands a good chance. Good driver, strong team.

Button 10-1. Been setting great times in testing but I think once we get into the guts of the season the Brawn Team will suffer from not having a high and set budget. Thing they're just running on the cusp of a good technical team that was well supported by Honda until they withdrew.

Alonso 11-2. Alonso's a cracking driver, a proven race winner and 2 time world Champion. The Renault team have a way of carefully but methodically improving to be strong contenders. Alonso having had a year to develop in the team and get the chassis to his liking. At those odds I'd be thinking well worth a punt.

Kubica 7-1. A solid 2008 season only hampered by BMW deciding to put their efforts into the 2009 car. Could well be a good move. Reputed to have more testing time than any other team using a car set for the new rules.

Vettel 14-1. The lads won a race, is a natural talent and such a nice bloke I'd love to see him get it. He's in an Adrian Newey car too which isn't going to hurt. Wouldn't put it past him to get a few more wins this year but don't think there'll be enough wins for a championship.

All the others I'd love them to win at the odds but there's a damned good reason they're at those odds

If it was my money. I'd be going with either Alonso or Kubica. Decent chance of return on money and good chance of winning

So who you betting on? Vitually or otherwise?

Kubica

McLaren apparently very behind the pace at this late stage preseason. What with restrictions on testing I suspect they'll give up on 2009 by june/july and focus on 2010 car.

Interesting to see if Hamilton can shine in an underperforming car.

Ferrari will be up there, as will BMW and possibly Redbull pulling a few surprises.

As said, I'll go for Kubica, I think he's one of, if not the best potential. If not him, one of the Ferraris will do it. Can't see any other challengers.

My money at this point would be on Kubica and Button.

Mostly because I think they have a slim chance and I like the odds.

I think because of the rule changes, it's going to be an interesting season.

I just wish Porsche had an F1 team.

It'd be crap because it'd would have to be slower than the 911 because the F1 car would be mid engined and you can't go having a mid engined car faster than the 911....

Because the LMP midengined Porsche Spyder is clearly slower than a 911.
